Trialhead is a little over a mile up Schnebly Hill Road from where you first cross Oak Creek coming into Sedona. The stairs are right where you finish descending the canyon into the creekbed. They sneak up on you right after a tight switchback and a sorta steep entry.

We made a loop from Huckaby to Jim Thompson Trail to Jordan Trail, and finally pavement back through town and up Schnebly Hill, about 12.5 miles overall.

Oh, and yesterday, it hit 91 degrees up there; we felt every one.
Thanks it hit 102 here in Tucson yesterdaySnowman

Rode out at Star Pass with some folks from 10:30-2:30. Pretty much the worst time to be in the sun--Thought I was gonna get sick. Time to hit the high country trails or get up @ 5am. Maybe I'll run into you at Sedona sometime. It's my favorite place in the state to ride.
Are you kidding? That's the best time to ride!AZ-X

NOT! :o) When I first moved to Arizona and didn't have a car, it was truly a trial by fire to commute to work on my MTB every day after moving here from school in Canada. What a shock! I've since gotten pretty used to it now. As long as you have plenty of water, and you're in decent shape, you can survive...

I'd still rather ride up in Northern AZ...

Was the ride leader from Puerto Rico? If so, that's him. He's the only nut to schedule a club ride at that time. He has a problem with getting up early. I was wondering if he was going to go through with it, and if anyone would show up. He's a riding buddy of mine, so that's why I'm picking on him.

You were on the SDMB ride, right? Small world if so.

It would be nice to see some more Northern AZ stuff. Beautiful terrain.

Still living vicariously as I'm putting my bike back together... Should be ready in another week and a half (hopefully less!). Still waiting for a damned part from Extralite... I'm going to post some preview pics this week though...

Ya mean these stairs?:

Definitely Huckaby Creek stairs.

While we're at it, here's some pix from our 100 degree ride in Phoenix's hot scorching sun on Thursday! We started at 6am but still were riding home in the full heat of the day and felt it!
