Due to Miller Moth invasions. Some of you know what I am talking about. They are bad up here this year.

Did you hear the one about the guy who would leave just one door and one light on during miller moth time? It was the door and light on the microwave oven. Some people have even been driven to leaving town during the annual miller moth invasion of eastern Colorado. It is easy to recognize Miller moth time. Millers burst out of doorways when the door is opened. They fly around inside lamp shades and then suddenly dart right at you. They throw themselves at the window screens until we think we will go nuts.

Miller moths are the adult stage of the army cutworm. Migrations from eastern Colorado heading west to the mountains takes place when the moth emerges after pupation. They are mostly harmless and die within a few days. Control is best done with water traps, swatters or vacuums.

Brett (die in a few days? they ain't dead yet and my cat is getting fat)
