| Question for you computer geeks | Yeti_Rider Jun 14, 2002 9:46 PM | | I have an issue with my multitude of video players and can't seem to figure out how to resolve it. I have Apple quicktime installed becasue certain web pages as well as Adobe Premier utilize the .mov file type. I prefer to use Windows media Player for all other video files but whenever I install quicktime it decides that it is the better player and sets itself up as my default player for streaming media. I don't stream in teh sense that I start the stream but then I pause the playback so I'm essentially downloading the entire file to my temp directory before I play it rather than right click, save as, play, delete. Anyway, how do I get quicktime to stop being so freaking selfish and set up WMP as my default streaming application? Right now I simply uninstall QuickTime and reinstall windows media player but it is starting to piss me off!
Thanks for your help

If you look for File type associations, there is a checkbox to tell it NOT to check to take over the file types again. Then reinstall Win Media Player and it should work well.
