Yes he raced XC before DH and he is a great all round rider. Most XC racers are great cardio specimens, but not exactly technically proficient. Tinker and Ned are exceptions of course.

The dominance Julie Furtado showed in the early 90's was just incredible. Yeah, Ned was insane as well and Johhny T was the last guy to win both a XC and DH event on the same bike but Julie won every race she entered for an entire year, and most of 'em weren't even close.

Far and away an amazing athlete. A big part of MTB history (and women in sports history I should think).



I'll put in a vote for Thomas Frischknecht too...poor guy can't win

but he had a huge long career in the sport. He liked to get 2nd place.
