Tahoe Gathering - 81 miles of singletrack in three daysBiking Viking

What a dream weekend it was. I have so many pictures to post - so many stories to tell. I'll let the pictures trickle out througout the week, and instead of lengthy write-ups summarize the high points in a bullet format. First series - a gathering overview and all the pictures that have no riders in them.

* Bigboulder (Steve) did an outstanding job in organizing the event. The camping and the rides were all perfect. Thanks for all your hard work.

* Toads is my new favorite trail. The combination of the technical upper section and the bobsleigh run lower is why.

* Fourarm showed up Saturday with a killer ride plan that was designed to serve as a revenge for the redwood epic two weeks ago. He succeeded.

* The Id is the perfect epic trailbike for the terrain at Tahoe. I climbed 7,000ft on it Saturday and then pointed it down the gnarly sections at Toads and just let it do its thing.

* These three rides rank high among my best mountain bike rides ever. I think Saturday's ride quite possibly is the best one.

* Supposedly riding a bike doesn't automatically qualify you as a nice person. After this gathering it is hard to believe that. Good to meet and ride with you all.

* New non-aviation altitude record for me: 9,600ft.

I hope you enjoy the first set of pictures. The rest all have people in them.
