| Friday: The Tahoe Gathering Prologue | Biking Viking Jul 16, 2002 6:19 AM | | What an opening ride it was. 26 miles and 3,600 ft of climbing on the sweetest singletrack. We rode the Tahoe Rim Trail out-and-back from Spooner Summit to Kingsbury Grade. Sorry for not cathing the name on all you LA guys - the OTB team. I'm inherently really bad with names, and when you all ride in the same outfit, it doesn't really help.
Here's Jilm and Bigboulder in search of oxygen

| I agree with the bike allergic eco fanatics. | Biking Viking Jul 16, 2002 6:22 AM | | It is impossible to enjoy nature when you are riding a mountain bike. |
| This idiot looks familar. | Biking Viking Jul 16, 2002 6:23 AM | | It must be the tight lycra that makes him act like this.

| What are you holding in your right hand? | K-Zero Jul 16, 2002 7:09 AM | | ...wait, that phrasing might give some people the wrong idea =p
Nice pics!

| Fast Eddy is thinking about work while... | Biking Viking Jul 16, 2002 6:26 AM | | ...riding the stairs at the end.
See that wheel cathcer you run into if you go too far to the right? If you run into that one and you have not lowered your seat, you might go over the bars. Ask me how I know.
When that happens you have to go back...
...and ride it again to repair the mental damage. Photography by Fast Eddy. |

| I'm going to start an equal access campaign...... | Battman42 Jul 16, 2002 6:51 AM | | As I can't hike anymore I must be disabled and need a blue hang tag on my bike... so I can go on all the trails.... No mods required.
I think I'll write to Miss Buttons and Bows (Fienstien) about it.
Thanks for the Pics and reviews.
BTW if tight lycra gets you up the hills with a smile, wear it...

| Sorry, gals. I don't have his phone number | Kanga Jul 16, 2002 10:09 PM | | Finally made it on as a registered user... but I already had made it on as a JPG it seems. Thanks BV! Tahoe was epic! You just had to be there... Steve |
| Not to sound like an insecure homophobe... | NuMexJoe Jul 16, 2002 6:34 AM | | but what's up with the matching outfits when those guys are just out for a trail ride? Must be a California thing that I just don't fully appreciate. Anyway BV, those are some beautiful pics you've been sharing with us. Don't know if it's the clouds and the lake in the background or what, but when I look at 'em, it seems like the temperature in my office drops & I can almost feel a nice, pleasantly cool breeze. I'm gonna have to go ride there sometime. Thanks! - Joe |
