Here is a link to an answer for you, or at least as close as I've been able to find.

If you don't feel like reading the whole thing, you can skip to the end.

Someone on these pages wrote recently something along the lines of "If you ever want to find out if something is true or not, post a message stating that it is true. Someone will do the research for you and prove you wrong."

Its still fun to believe it though, or pass it on. So tell all your friends at parties that those cute little daddy long legs are lethal, but they just can't bite. If they look it up and prove you wrong, you can pull a clerks move and say "what? you actually believed me?"

My wife has been telling me for years that they were lethal, even had my oldest daughter scared of them. I sent her the link too, maybe she'll admit defeat.

Ever since I heard this story, I haven't looked at them the same way. Every few days I'll grab one from the wall in a tissue to put it outside. To humor myself and my wife, I'm some up with a daddy long legs voice and I go "hey mr. human. you are very very lucky that I can't bite you cause my poison would kill your a$$. If only I could bite...."

Its funny if you know me and all, but sort loses the effect on the internet.
