| Ever have to go somewhere cool w/o the bike??? | namaSSte Sep 6, 2002 9:06 AM | | This weekend I am going to be at this great spot for mtb but my activites don't include my two wheeled buddy. As I walked out the door this morning with my bags in hand, that little aluminum beauty just looked so sad, she was beggin me to take her...maybe next time, maybe next time.
Just wondered if you all go through this because I know all weekend I am going to be staring into the woods daydreaming about railing some sweet singletrack.
Oh well, I get to golf (ack!). |
| Yep, next weekend in fact... | Fat-tire Sep 6, 2002 9:47 AM | | Heading west found to Newport Beach with 18 of my closest (and not so closet friends) to have out on the beach and play V-ball, drink beer, and relive my college days.
The bike, unfortunately, is staying behind. |
| Kind of. | Pete. Sep 6, 2002 10:25 AM | | I actually had my bike but everything was a pretty bold poach and my family wouldn't have appreciated waiting for me to finish a long ride at that point.
Lassen NP. |
| Kind of here too. | Biking Viking Sep 6, 2002 11:02 AM | | Went somerhere very cool to ride a few weeks ago.
Had permission from my wife to ride a lot.
Had planned to bring two bikes.
Ended up bringing no bikes - on purpose, kind of.

| SF/Marin | Titan Sep 6, 2002 2:05 PM | | I've been to SF six times, and STILL have not ridden the headlands/Mt. Tam/etc. I've actually TAKEN MY BIKE with me twice, but couldn't break away from tourist-minded companions to sneak in a ride! |
| Whats the deal with Mt Tam area? | moneyshot Sep 6, 2002 2:40 PM | | Can you, or can you not bike there? Ive heard conflicting reports. Are certain areas open only? All shut off to bikes? |
| There are places to ride..... | Battman42 Sep 7, 2002 8:00 PM | | Some Single track, and lots of fireroad cruising.
I still haven't made it to Tamarancho but that is the next planned trip.
It really depends on what you want to do... I haven't seen any real exciting stuff as far as skills go but there is a lot more of Tam left that I haven't done yet.
E-me if you want to check it out some time... mainly weekdays.

| Hell yeah. | Teach Sep 6, 2002 3:37 PM | | In the next two months I will go to Utah, Arizona, BC, Alberta, and Montana, all sans ride. No time to ride, all business.
Ironically, my business is travel. You'd think there'd be more of a chance for me to ride when I'm traveling and scouting, but no. There isn't. Wah.
But, I'll be getting down to Cali for four days of riding in October so I've got that going for me.
Enjoy your trip - you'll still do fun stuff and have good times. Just not AS good. |
