not my style, heavy wheat bears, bocks, marzen, and as i said before this 1554 black ale is extremely tasty(think roasted hops). Irish reds are good too :)
Roasted hops? Maybe roasted malt, eh? Chocolate or...daveM

black patent? Belgian special 'B' was my favorite malt, when I was brewing. Gotta love Chinook hops! If you are ever in Boulder, CO, check out the Colorado Kind Ale at the Mountain Sun. Malty and hoppy!
yeah, i think that was it(i was having a few at the time)Jm

anyway, it comes from Ft Collins, same brewing co as Fat Tire ale, and while thats on tap EVERYWHERE here in AZ, the 1554 black brussels is quite a bit rarer, and tastes really good to me, very different.
How about Sigmund's...Type2kid

I used to have a hard time drinking hoppy beers now I love 'em. I have to check out local fav, Liquor Mart, for it. If it's sold outside of Cali, they'll have it.
Doesn't look too good.Biking Viking

...there was one pilsner stuck into my sixer of IPAs. I didn't notice until I saw the picture. It's yummyness was similar to that of the IPA.

I've had a sixer of FP's bad Blue Dog Ale, or whatever it was called. It tasted like dog something allright.

Lots of bad batches going around from Lagunitas. I've bought several bad beers/sixxers in several different locations.

I called the company, and they admitted it.

i Pull it from the shelves, you idiots!

Used to be my favorite, too, especially the Dog :0(

fp
yeah, that looks bad on several accountsJm

there is a distributer that probably has to pull it, but the store guys have the final say usually. One thing as a beer distributer though; making sure nothing out of date was on the shelves was religion to us. Problem is most stores don't want to have to pull the stuff off the shelf, or admit that they broke something or didn't sell it. So it gets kind of complicated with one party blaming another and all, and because of money usually the one responsable doesn't want to admit it, to save them money.

It is a pretty competative business, but leaving something out of date(which is the biggest problem) out on the shelf, or even distributing a bad batch is extremely poor business.

oh well, we didn't do Lagunitas, I think that is Meca Brewing(miller and all their smaller brands and micro brews), could be Capitol Bev(coors) but im pretty sure its Mesa. Looks real bad though when they do it, our quality control and "regulations" were stringent for anheiser busch.
