| A very good weekend... | fred³ Sep 8, 2002 4:26 PM | | indeed. Saturday: Gorgeous September weather on Saturday. Eighteen holes of golf. Shoot 74(par 71). First summer back playing in three years. Sunday. Gorgeous September weather. Nine mile ride with Lori, Adlai and Brick(two co-workers). A spectacular endo by Lori with just a bruise to her lower outside shin. Super fast trails and a great mixture of fast smooth swoopy singletrack and great sections of rocks and roots. Lori and I rode exceptionally well for two Old Pharts. :-)
Ahhhhh. It's the type of weekend that makes a workweek worthwhile.
Later. |
| worked all weekend, rode this am, and BTW Fred, | ol-crank® Sep 8, 2002 5:34 PM | | I was in Portland Maine two weeks ago after riding the Mt. Washington hill in N.H. How close was I to where you are? |
| First off.... | fred³ Sep 8, 2002 5:38 PM | | congratulations on doing the Mt.Washington hill climb. I've never done it, but hear it's a real S.O.B.! Kudos!!!
You were about 15 miles from my house. |
| damn, although I was travelling with some riding buddies, | ol-crank® Sep 8, 2002 6:06 PM | | if I had known I was close, I woulda made sure to arrange to meet up and ride in your backyard, sorry Fred, but I bet I will be back, and will let you know next time.
bob(and Mary, Ed, Pat, Murray, Lorraine, btw home many bedrooms did you say you had?) |
| Turbo is riding very well these days herself | Rev Bubba Sep 9, 2002 5:32 AM | | Too bad you'll miss the festivities. Turbo has greatly improved and was looking forward to showing Lori arount JT and taking her to her new favorite ride just past the Scranberry Coop.
Anyway, it certainly was a beautiful weekend to ride. I found parts of Mahlon Dickerson I'd missed (well, actually just north of the park) which you would love. Rode for over four hours there Sunday and most was very technical with plenty of walking back up long, oneway, downhills.
Another time. |
| Sorry I missed you guys..... | knobbydad® Sep 9, 2002 5:47 AM | | if only I checked my email more on the weekends! I was busy eating birthday cake yesterday (jeezuz, I'm old)and trying to stay cool. It was killing me knowing you guys were riding so close to my place!
Give me some more advanced notice next time and I'm assuming there will be a next time before the snow flies. |
