Rode 6 great epic rides, and had a blast doing it. The leaves are changing up above 5000'. but still mostly green lower.

Up up up...."click(pic)"...up up up....then....down down down. Repeat as ness. I'm leaning on the tree, with Jeff up trail saying "lets go!". It sucks in NC tho. Don't go.

Typical trail action.

On some slickrock trails Friday. All rock for long stretches.

Me, Wayne, Jeff.
Sweet!

Very, very nice! Thanks for posting. I'm headed down to Asheville for a week this Saturday. May I ask which rides you did?
Don't let 'em fool you.... they were in Georgia!M-U-M

But, if you guys just happened to make a side trip WNC way, I'd be curious to know what the new downed tree situation is like in the higher elevations. Thanks.

Purty pics.
Yes, its all in N Ga....Duckman

Not too bad. We had some good wind with rain coming in late Friday afternoon from that wayward hurricane, but no biggie. We did about 70 miles total, and only had to cross/climb/drag under/etc, about 8-10 blowdowns, and about half of those were old. The leaves are already an issue in the pretty much always wet trails, especially the deep and damp watersheds.
Those GA trail crews are soooo slack.M-U-M

That's why they all come to WNC to ride. I mean, really - just one look at that Alloy Nipples guy says it all - but, even here there are some areas where the chain saws don't run. Guess there'll be a few surprises Sat. 8)

Just before the summit of the 1st knob on the Buckwheat Knob trail(heading up east from 477fs road while hiking w/ the bike on your shoulder)is one of the meanest Yellowjacket nests I've seen in awhile...right in the middle-right of the trail. My bud got hit twice. I had to go around, which sucked too.
Thanks for the warningM-U-M

We tend to hang these things on our handle bars during the season. Once you learn how to balance, they're a God-send.
Well now I'm just confused. ?!? nm

I've fished there but didn't know there were trails. Good? Bad? Ugly? Are they written up in the review section?
