Oct 7, 2002 10:25 AM | | I took a break from my daily routine of eating and drinking beer to head down to the American Royal BBQ contest held every year in Kansas City. This is the largest BBQ contest in the world, with contestants coming in from all over to smoke various animals, douse them with sauce and then pass them over to judges for opinion.
Chip invited me down to sample his meat and perhaps drink a tasty beverage or two. Well, as a verified fat guy, I know a thing or two about food. I may not be too selective about what I eat, but I do recognize great food when I taste it. Chips meat tasted great.
out of 1000+ entries in this years contest, Chip placed 9th overall in the brisket catagory. While this is excellent, the judges missed their mark, as Chip's pork was by far the best I've had.
One another note: After fierce negotiations fueled by Budweiser, the organizers of the Midwest Mountain Biking Advocacy Summit and the BabyBackStabbers.have preliminarily agreed to work together to provide Chip's tasty meat at the 2003 Summit, scheduled for the weekend of March 14-16, 2003 in Kansas City.
If you woudl like to sample Chip's suculent, smoky meat, then plan on attending next year's Summit.
