| Back in the saddle again! | SoulRider Oct 7, 2002 11:00 AM | | Road saddle that it is, but it still felt good. It's been 1 month since my busted collarbone but it has felt like a year off the bikes. Dusted off the Pinarello, gave her the once over and mounted up. My normal roll off the curb was taken on foot for now. Once underway I was feeling like my old self. Headwinds greeted me for the first 10 miles out to my turnaround spot where I was starting to feel a bit of discomfort in my shoulder.Even though it was only 20 miles it was great to be back on a bike. Now, gotta work on doing 1 push up and getting back on the singletrack. Baby steps....... |
| I hear you... | DeRanger Oct 7, 2002 11:15 AM | | ...been back on the (mountain) bike again for about a month. Still riding a lot of flats (bikepaths and such) to toughen up my legs and keep my back stretched out. One day a week on dirt - maybe I'll shoot for two this week.
Like you said, baby steps - recovery is a patience game.

| Good Luck.... | bungyfish Oct 7, 2002 11:16 AM | | I broke my collarbone when I was 16. Took me about 3 months to get back to full trail riding with confidence. Road riding is not my thing, but it's better than nothing. |
