| More Brian Head, Utah Pictures | brianc Oct 7, 2002 6:31 PM | | Brian Head Day Two,
Since today was the day of passion posts, I decided it was high time I got around to scanning the last of my Brian Head, Utah shots. I also wanted a clean slate before my Taos pictures came back.
Here we are taking in the view before we plunge back to the bottom of the mountain. |
| Playing on the log pile | brianc Oct 7, 2002 6:33 PM | | Playing on the log pile we made after we did a little trail maintenance. The tree in the background was blocking the trail, which cause riders to be funneled down into a spring. So we scratched our heads and made some tools to get the job done.

| Gnary1 in action | brianc Oct 7, 2002 6:36 PM | | Gnary1 showing why she?s the energizer bunny. No matter what she made sure to clean all the technical sections.

This is teh section that claimed Vato's knee. There is a good sized rooty drom in the middle of a switchback where I'm stading taking the pic. Gnarl made it look smooth. |

| thanks | brianc Oct 8, 2002 5:43 AM | | sorry again that it took me so long.
I know what you mean about wanting to get out of the midwest. I lived there my whole life. Now that i've been out here for a year, it's hard for me to imagine living any where else.

| what a fun weekend.... | Gnarly1 Oct 8, 2002 9:40 AM | | Cool shots, Brian.
Hey, it looks like Brian Head got its first big snow storm of the season last week.... |
| There was snow in places in Taos | brianc Oct 8, 2002 5:14 PM | | I think I'm starting to get over thinking too much. I wreched this weekend in a nasty rocky section not b/c it was too hard, but because I was confident that i could hold an almost track stand in the middle of it while thr riders in front cleared out. Just as I started to move forward again my front wheel told me otherwise. and OTB I went.

| ahh... that brings back memories | mergs Oct 8, 2002 10:20 AM | | of a great ride at Brianhead, and it reminds me of a cool story:
I was out there solo but linked up with 3 guys from the Santa Cruz area on the second shuttle. After a day of riding, I noticed my Topeak Panaram computer and broken off on one of the downhill sections and was gone. Dang! The guys I was with (they were really cool, but I just met them that day) were returning back the next day to ride again, but I had to leave to catch a plane back to NJ. They said they'd look for it and they took my address.
A week later, I got a Jiffy envelope with the bike computer enclosed. They found it and mailed it to me.
Just a little story about how people can be GOOD.
