Nov 8, 2002 4:37 PM | | Finally raining my fellow weekend warriors. What does that mean u ask? Well the trails will finally and hopefully become packed for some decent riding and this means less of a fire hazard on the trails like Gabrielino, JPL, San Juan and so on and so on. Guess the national forest rangers will finally allow us to ride and have some fun. No more riding around the neighborhood due to closed adventurous trails. Good luck...Laterz.. |

Seems most don't really appreciate how bad it's been, but being on a well and living close to one of the major reservoirs in Md., I get it first-hand. At one point we were at 17% reservoir capacity and in danger of one of the best trout streams becoming too warm to support trout. Not to mention the chance of wells drying up. Luckily we've had some rain ,still not enough-at 46% capacity last I'd heard. But it's getting better at least. What we used to cuss at for washing out a weekend of riding is now something to cheer for-amazing how the lack of something you always took for granted, makes you appreciate it more, isn't it? |
