|  Santa Cruz Mts trail condition update, Saratoga gap | eric strt6
Nov 8, 2002 9:50 PM | | ok for those of you thinking of riding up here this weekend here is your trail condtion update.
we have had 7.3 inches of rain up in the Castle Rock/ Satatoga Gap area since Thursday [measured at the rain gauge on my property]. The soil seems to be soaking most of it up with some pooling in the flatter areas.
trail surfaces are a little on the spongy side so pick your route wisely and minimize your impact.
Due to the high winds up here there is a heavy amount of blown down debris [lots of black oak and bay leaves along with many small pine branches] covering the trails. we have even had some of the larger trees get toppled as well as some large branch shedding
currently we are having light rain and wind gusts of up to 20mph
temps have been in the 50s to low 60's |

Nov 9, 2002 10:20 AM | | its 48 degrees at 2800 ft and the wind is starting to pick up 10-15 mph right now and some clouds are just starting to come over the top of the ridge from the west but it is still mostly sunny |
