Hi there everybody! I'm a long time lurker and occasional poster but have never introduced myself formally. As you can see from my handle I live in Southern California, in Los Angeles to be more specific (North Hollywood to be even more specific). I'm 27 and have been cycling since I was 12 and mountain biking since I was 14, when I got a Diamond Back Ascent ex with the cool splattered paint (my dad still rides it). Nowadays I'm riding a Specialized FSRxc and a Giant road bike. Soon I hope to have a hardtail and a longer travel fs rig, but that would require a better paying job. I'm also getting married in June, which will delay any more bike purchases, but it's well worth it. Anyways, that's me just thought I'd stop being such a stranger and give you a short bio.
Cool. Welcome Al (nm)kristian

It's respect from all of us who can't believe you could hold out so long without jumping in an SUV, Gipple ___, or Pete thread.

But you will pay the price, for now you are cursed to begin posting, and posting often.

what beers do you like?

See we have extremely deep feelings about our malt beverages here.

This is tonight's dilema for me.....

Decisions, decisions

I started riding with a Diamond Back but an Axis (Blue splatter paint job) I still have it along with the Switchblade. The Axis is going to be a resstoration project this year I think.

This is the first time I've tried to upload a pic, hope it works. I love Becks, preferably not in a can, but $4 for 4 16 oz's incl. tax and CRV, I can't complain. I also love Bass ale. My fiance's house is always stocked with MGD, of course I drink it to not offend to her family : ) Also favorites- Mississippi Mud, If I have to have light, it better be Amstel Light, Grolsch, and of course Singletrack. Micro brews can be hard to find in the big city, usually I go to Trader Joe's to find something, but I'm restricted by money right now.

As far as goes, it's a great place to find trails, but I prefer these message boards. They're not as clique-ish and less annoying teenage "extreme" types. Wow, I'm starting to sound old.

I would love to attend SFAZ, but unless I get a decent paying job and a car that would make it that far, it's out of the question. If anybody from LA area is going for a day or two and can give me a lift, let me know.
right on Al, nice to "officially" meet you...namaSSte

Hey SoCal, just wanted to comment on your Diamond Back Ascent EX. I had a blue one and just last year gave it to my brother in law to ride on the beach. It was my second mtb, my first one was a Raleigh Pointe that my mom now rides. I got the raleigh in 90 I think and I got the Diamondback in 92 or 93. Both were pretty decent bikes in there day.
kb, rush chairman, damn glad to meet you............kb
