While Duckman and Raja waited until GA started to thaw some before hitting the trails...Me and a few faithful SORBA - Woodstock members worked on the new south loop trail. Yeah, it was cold! We did warm some once the work started.

Dave the trail boss "If only 3 show, we're canceling"

"OK, if only 5 people show we'll cancel."

Well, 14 diehards show up and we're off. We rode along the frozen lake bed for easy access to the section we're working on...the farthest point from the parking lot.

Grab the tools and hit the trail.

So you can't have a SORBA work party without the "safety speech" (pics are from last month)

The birth of fresh trail!

One handle width bench.

Clearing the duff off.

Side hilling the bench in.

Of course we take time to check out bikes.

"Is that only LX? Full XTR my A$$"

Back to the cold... LBS "Free Flight" provides some hot lunch! THANKS!

And that's that. We'll see all ya'll ALT folks next month!

I feel bad I wasn't there to help. It had to be rough going with the ground frozen from the night before. How much more trail needs to be cleared before it can be opened?
Thanks for all the work....AlloyNipples

Don't feel bad, it was freekin' COLD!!! Actually the ground wasn't all that bad. About 2 miles total are left to finish but we have 2 or 3 BIG switch backs to make...lots of rock to stack and back fill. We are going to make it the project when the IMBA Trail Care Crew come this spring. If you pick one trail day this year please make it this one, we want a good turn out for the TCC. We usually get 20-30 each work day but more the merrier.
