you might find that those switches don't work so well. I used one of those on my frankenlight, and when I rode over bumpy ground, the switch rattled, causing the light to flicker.

I know, but that can be solved just by putting a stronger spring on the internal connections.

That's one of the best DIY lights I've seen. It looks durable and clean.

Nicely done.

I own an electrical hardware store, so I have them for sale.
What's the typical use for that battery...MrJase

...so I can ask for it at my local electrical store without sounding like an idiot.

"Uhm, do you have that battery...uhm you know, the blue one that looks like a waterbottle..."

Very nice work btw. What is the discharge rate at both 10 and 20w? Also, how do you charge it?
Sorry, but if you ask like that...BillyTK

... you will look like an idiot, because it really is a water bottle, the battery is inside, I forgot to take pictures of the battery itself so I didn't post them. Inside the bottle, there's 24 panasonic batteries.

Thanks for the link.

So what kind of burn-time are you getting?

I only tried with both lamps and I got about 1h35m.

I've to try it with each lamp, but 1h35 with 30w that's not too bad i think.

I think I'd like to take a shot at building one....

I'd have to dust off my Fab. Tech. skillz.

Your lights look nicely crafted. I'll be looking thru the selection of Eviro. proofed switches at work.

Thanks for the post.

I believe you but I don't where's that "@" you talked about.

You don't use the "@" symbol anywhere. I was just using it in place of the actual symbol that you need to use. If I had used the actual symbol in my example then the software on this sight would start looking for an actual picture.

I'll use another example...

Looks clean. I've been thinking about building a home-brew light set myself this winter. What kind of fittings are those (gray) you used for the light housings? They almost look like central vacuum fittings. I'm in the hardware business so the parts shouldn't be too hard to come by for me. Did you follow any kind of plan or is that your own creation?
Nice work...BillyTK

You're almost right, they are plumbing convertors (used to convert 50mm tubes to 40mm), but the white tubes are in fact central vacuum joints and this is my own creation.

Stay tuned I'll post pictures of some construction details latter.
