Got out for ride on Sat. w/ TrickyT,DaveM, Steve,Bill, and Bernie. I used to call rides like this shuttles because they involve two vehicles, and there's more downhill than up, but have since been advised that shuttles have less climbing, so I guess it was a point to point ride. Ride was prob a 1500 ft climb w/ a 2500ft descent w/ temps in upper 40's. All is perfect until I realize I forgot my helmet at my house.Damn, it's hard to enjoy ride w/out helmet, but even more difficult to sit a ride out, so I opt to take it easy, and snap a few pics. Mid way down I'm waiting for the guys to come down, and here comes Bernie w/ his helmet snapped completely thru after head butting a tree at speed(he's ok-just sore)- that made the rest of downhill a little more tense. Anyhow, I better stop this mocha induced rambling, and share some pics. In this pic TrickyT,Dave,Bill, and Steve take off in search of the elusive Bernie.

thanks. I'm anxious to see those night shots too- is that guy working or something? He really needs to get his priorities straight:) I was amped last night after that ride. I had to sit up for a while watching t.v. just so I could pass out. I love that feeling.

more totally uninspiring single track shots! ;-)

Nice pics as always. Good to hear your friend is okay after head butting the tree. A friend of mine once forgot his shoes so he did the entire ride on his Teva's and he runs Frogs on his rig. Still managed to outclimb almost everybody! It defiantely sucks when you forget some gear though. I rode without my helmet once a few years back becasue a girl we were with didn't have one and I felt more confident in my abilities than hers. It's just sort of freaky to not hafe one and actually have to think about being careful.

thanks. I've had to do the sandle thing before too. That scares me more than riding w/ out a helmet. Frogs would have be the most uncomfortable pedal that I could imagine w/ sandals.

..... but we're way over due for some. It's weird having trails in dusty/dry condition in middle of winter. We've been so dry last few years that I'm starting to forget what a lot of local trails look like when they're green. This section of trail is still a little crispy from a past fire.
I heard that the CO high country needs to get ~10feet of snow...EricTheRed

to be where we were this time last year. If you are a fire fighter looks like a busy summer...

I hope its not the age. I'm only 30, and my memories not getting any better. I typically keep all my riding gear in one big bag, to make it wasy on myself, and somehow I still manage to leave something behind:)
