Rear hub for a beater.....?(5 posts)

Rear hub for a beater.....?bungyfish
Feb 20, 2003 10:25 AM
Anyone know where I can find a rear hub with 130mm spacing? I am pretty sure it is a 130mm spacing because I take the rear wheel off my primary ride and I have to wedge it in the frame. It's an old (92ish) frame that I am trying to build up as a beater bike and I want something cheap. I have checked the normal online places and found nothing. I am thinking yard sales and junk piles are going to be my best bet. Is 130mm even the right spacing? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

I didn't know a road hub would work that will make my yard sale searches etc easier.

$27 is pushing my upper limits, but if I don't find one in a week or two it's good to know where to get one. Thanks Fast and Joe.

The road bike rear hubs had a 126 spacing or something like that before they went to 130. I think some of the 8 speed stuff is 126, but I could be wrong.

Good luck,

Joe
