Anybody else getting jittery? (not mtb)Doc

Walking from the research building to the main plant I crossed through the lunch room to see the big screen TV showing images of the fire in Staten Island. My mind went straight back to that November morning when I was doing the same thing.....

Is it just me, or is everybody else a little on edge too?
What fire in Staten Island?Rev Bubba

Can't see anything from the 7th Floor of One Madison Ave...

No, not getting jittery but I do avoid obvious public places like the Empire State Building, etc. during my lunch time walks.
On edge - but the SI thing is not TerrorismMackie

It's just a refinery accident. if you own stock in an oil company - it just went up.
Supposed to be visible from Manhattan....namaSSte

but none of my counterparts in the downtown area have said they see it. Then again, they are probably not all there on a Friday either....

Almost 100 people killed in two separate nightclub incidents. Dare I say 2003 is the year of the nightclub tradegies (last year was the year of the child abductions and forest fires, and two years ago was the year of the shark attack).

Personally, I don't think it's a surprise that most will have same feeling as you. That is the terrorist intentions. How many of us thought the same thing when the plane went down in the N.Y. neighborhood, or when the Shuttle went down. I think we need to train ourselves to *not* think worse case scenario until it's confirmed, less the terroritst win.

It all makes mountain biking see EXTREMELY SAFE!

How have you been? Gonna be on the mountain tomorrow? We have not talked in a while and i was wondering how your XC WEENIE (your words) self has been? I havve been buzzing hikers and wearing lots of gear if you were interested!

WHat is up with that? I thought you liked men, lycra, light bike and all! If you think about it light bikes may be the cycling world equivalent of light loafers. Kinda like this:

-Yeah, I know Fat Tire, I hear he is a little light in the frame though!

-Oh, I got that feeling too but I was not sure since he said he had a GF, maybe that meant Guy of my Fantasies!

-Probably so....

Get the picture! I personally ride a 44 pound rig so you know I like woman and that I am a MANLY MAN!
LOL, now I get it...Fat-tire

know I was that transparent. I also have a huge Excursion with big rims and a loud exhaust. Couple that with big biceps and a few gold chains and I guess it becomes obvious!
I don't know - FT's looking pretty good these days....MRfire - 1

A little, but more because...Blade

...the secretary's daughter works fairly high in chain of command in the Cleveland Browns organization, where an ex-CIA/Secret Service member is head of security. He sent an e-mail out for employees to warn friend's and families against going to major US landmarks for a few weeks... So I'm a little on edge about that, but not night club fires and a refinery going up in smoke. Although, I'm wishing I had something that gets better gas mileage than a Rustang
That kinda sounds like....Kitchenware

What my brothers girlfriends sisters housekeepers dog said.

Me, I'm avoiding Carl's JR. I hear terrorists are making their burgers fatty and standing in line JUST to make us wait longer for our food!

Bastiges!

Let's see...

-Got the Chicago club trampling episode

-Rhode Island club fire

-Korea subway fire

-Staten Island fire

-Corbin, Kentucky chemical plant explosion and fire

Plus we have the snow/ice storm that went through the US, making a darned mess. My parents and many of my friends haven't had power since Sunday.

Am I missing anything? Been an odd, frightening week.
