Supergo and Gift Certificates(3 posts)

Supergo and Gift CertificatesMellow Yellow

FYI: If you ever get a gift certificate for Supergo, you can't use it when shoping online. I found this out the hard way.

I got a $50 girt certificate for Christmas and finally decided to use it. So, I go to their site and toss a set of ODI Lock Jaw Rogue grips, ODI Lock Jaw Aluminum clamps in red, and CNC Allow hydrolic cable guides into the shoping cart. I think it's a scam that they sell the grips and clamps separatly and that the clamps cost as much as the grips.

I put all this stuff in the shopping cart, give my mailing info, get to the check out screen and see nowhere to put the gift certificate info. When I called Supergo, they told me that I have to print and mail in a copy of that screen along with the certificate. If the certificate is more than the total, they'll give me store credit for the diference.

Doesn't this seem to defeat the whole "shop online" thing??

I recently went through something similar with a GC from Carvin.com for a new bass I was building. I talked at length with customer service, they told me that offering on line gift certificates is very difficult without incurring fraud. In the end, I had to take the paper gift certificate, mail it back to them, wait for it to clear accounting, then I could use it. It seriously affected my timeline.
