Good times in LA/Orange CountyDSR

I've been stuck out here in LA (Orange County specifically) for several weeks, but did manage to drag my bike along and sneak a few rides in - San Juan Trail, Aliso Woods, Carbon Canyon. All great stuff. Kind of similar to CO Front Range in that it's dry, although smoother and generally less rocky/technical. Some super fun tight and twisty stuff as well. Also wanted to just comment on how friendly people generally were on the trails. Very outgoing and happy to point me in the right direction or offer up some route suggestions. (One other cool thing out here is that there are a lot of criss-crossing trails which allow you to string together a bunch of different combinations.) I had solicited some ride recommendations a couple weeks ago. Just wanted to thank those that responded and those who I met on the trail. Looking forward to getting off this project and getting home, but sneaking some great rides in out here certainly helped me keep my sanity! Take care and thanks. S

I'll be heading out to Disneyland with the kids at the end of May for a week. I'd love to rent a bike for a day and hit the trails with moma's permission of coarse. Do you have any recomendations for a place to rent a bike and get trail maps etc? Thanks, Tony

Check out Switchback Cyclery in Orange. Corner of Chapman/Jamboree.

I'm not sure if they do rentals, but they are close to a lot of good options and not too far from D-land.

Check out www.SocalMTB.com for trail info.
