|   Rock Cut Trail Crew's first Sprockids meeting. | old Oi Punk
Apr 28, 2003 11:02 AM | | We had our first meeting of the R.C.Trail crew's Sprockids yesterday. 11 kids with parents came to the meeting, out of 18 that signed up. I think that is good, considering 4 were still at Church at the time, and 3 were from way out of town and couldn't make it! Our bunch on Sunday ranged in age from 7 yrs. to 11 yrs. old. We have 2 girls that are already seasoned Mt. Bike racers ( WORS youth divisions) and a brother-sister duo that are very athletic( after the meeting they were in a 3 mile running event), they are very excited about Mt. Biking and would like to race. The rest were every bit as enthusiastic as the aforementioned kids! We discussed trail rules and etiquette, safety etc. The parents were also very interested in this club, which is a good sign! All of them expressed interest in helping out with anything we will be doing! One father is going to join the adult club (RCTrailCrew) so he can lead the kids on rides. This is great,as it will take some of the burden of my shoulders. It is such a great feeling when you get the shorties into something you feel "Passionate" about, like I do Mt. Biking! I am hoping to have a club ride soon, as soon as our insurance coverage kicks in!
