| John Denver / Sunday Front Range Ride with Pix... | TrickyT Apr 28, 2003 11:49 AM | | "He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below
He saw everything as far as you can see
And they say he got crazy once, and he tried to touch the sun"
Couldn't get John Denver out of my head during this ride..
I don't know bout touch'n the sun, but we certainly gained some elevation. Here's Louie, a newbie to the Colorado Front Range, straight from the big state of Texas!

"Now he rides in quiet solitude the forests and the streams
Seeking grace in every (pedal) stroke he takes
His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake"
Here's Louie ride'n and solitude of the forest.

You can talk to Jah and listen to the casual reply
Rocky Mountain high (high Colorado) Rocky Mountain high (high Colorado)
Here I am, climbing little rock section.

Rock section from a different angle.

I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly
Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
Here's Louie flying "high"

Rocky Mountain high (high Colorado) Rocky Mountain high (high Colorado)
Here I am rolling through the aspen/root section.

And Louie.

Down the little rock section again..

Darn, sweet singletrack..

THE END. |
| Yo. I think you passed me going up Fremont Hill on my road bike- | 2melow Apr 28, 2003 11:54 AM | | on Saturday morning, around 9:30ish?. Sure looked like your cruiser on the way up to Monument Gulch/Ranger station area...
Great pics! |
| Yo. I think you passed me going up Fremont Hill on my road bike- | TrickyT Apr 28, 2003 11:57 AM | | Yep, That would have been me... wow, we should have hooked up.. maybe next Sunday? |
| you're off by a day and a canyon tricky | migz Apr 28, 2003 12:56 PM | | you were sawing logs on saturday at 9:30 cause you boned out on our ride. Plus, you were one canyon south of where 2mellow taking about. Ok, now that I reminded you of where you were last weekend you need to take June 5th and 6th off, so we can have a party up near Pingree Park on the 6th,and talk 2mellow and a few locals into riding there w/ us via black moose route on the 5th. Be careful, and don't get your days mixed up when you ask for them off:) |
| Life is one big blur.... | TrickyT Apr 28, 2003 2:40 PM | | when your playing car mechanic for a week. Gee could there be two "out of town browns"?

Working on those days off... that was the 10th and 11th right? |
| Lighter tan color cruiser.. | 2melow Apr 28, 2003 3:00 PM | | It was the "desert storm" color looking rig that passed me. I thought it might have been you Troy. The backside of Rist Canyon/Stove Prarie still had about 6" of snow. I bet the Monument Gulch/Old flowers road might still be 3 weeks under snow unless it gets real warm.
I'm getting married June 6th Migz. We should do a ride up the Poudre Canyon before then though. I bet Dad Gulch is good. Took the dog out for a run on Hewlett's Gulch SUnday...those creeks were flowing REALLY high.
peace, brett |

| Dang! | DSR Apr 28, 2003 7:46 PM | | Wishful thinking I guess! One pic looked spot on to the section that drops down to St Vrain Creek and then runs back to the Boy Scout Camp road. Good to see that there's a lot more up there to fill up the reserviors. S |
