| 2002 super t oil height confusion (x-post shocks) | 006_007 Apr 28, 2003 2:08 PM | | I have a 2002 super t and have planned to replace the oil. I know that the oil height is supposed to be measured with the springs/top cap out and the stanchions compressed.
The problem is how much oil to put in. I have read variation between 80mm all the way to 110mm. I have checked Marzocchi manuals, talked to LBS, and I now have no idea what to do. Perhaps I will just leave the old stuff in!
Thanks for any info. |

| yes, but..... | 006_007 Apr 28, 2003 2:41 PM | | I have the manual, but when I was talking with the guys at WP they said 110mm.
I wonder if they were thinking the Jr T (100mm + 10% = 110) |
| Probably... | CraigH Apr 28, 2003 3:06 PM | | Which guys were you talking to?
I don't really know the W10th store guys. Over in Kerrisdale Jason is the guy who has done all my fork work, but he is only working weekends right now as he is a UBC student.
I'd go with the Marz. manual, and if you want it more progressive add the extra 8mm of oil up to 72mm.
The 110mm reading is just weird as you would want more oil, rather than less, eg 90mm. |
| hum..... | Gumbi Apr 28, 2003 4:46 PM | | I'd go with the 80mm and adjust from there. I use to run a Jr T and the oil level on that fork was 110mm. Now I run an '02 Super around 80mm (which is speced in the manual for 80mm) and love it. Sounds like someone simply go thier #'s wrong. With so many forks and constant design changes on the market, its easy to cross up. Enjoy the Super, it's a blast to ride. |
| Thanks CraigH and Gumbi, I will go with the 80mm (nm) | 006_007 Apr 28, 2003 4:57 PM | | |
