Pics from last night's Jets To Brazil show at the Ottobar in Baltimore, MD, for those who care (several posts). First time using my Canon S230, so forgive any bad images, especially the red-eye.

Made the trek there from McLean, VA at the height of rush hour in an amazing 1 hour to meet Allroy for the show. Some bike content, since prior to the show we did discuss the East Coast North American Single Speed Championship of the World (ECCNASSNA is such a mellifluous acronym) and the upcoming SM 100.

JTB started a couple hours late, but the show was well worth the wait. Gotta love small venues like Ottobar for the obvious viewing and listening (read: tintinitis-producing) advantages over the impersonal monster stadiums, excepting the occasional underage brat who manages to purloin an unguarded beer and drunkenly screams requests like it's an NSYNC show. And with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on tap for $2 a pop till 9 (the originally scheduled show time), what's not to like? No food service, but we had pizza delivered to the bar. A good thing, since the show wasn't over till after 1 ayem.

Ah, draft SNPA (photo credit to Allroy, who was drinking slowly enough to appreciate the aesthetics)...

Hope you were asking for confirmation, as opposed to an explanation.

Irony is, it's from an old Jawbreaker song. Go figure...
ya, just a confirmationHollywood

I thought it might be along the lines of:

"I'm getting faster, you're getting fatter", but maybe not. Cool either way.

thx

you done good with the shots, being your first time out with it. Now my shots may take a little longer... how artsy they will be, *cough cough*.

Yeah, that was a good time. Have a lot more pics; unfortunately, the few I took after moving to a different spot automatically focused on the heads of the folks I was straining to clear with the camera. Got some nice brilliantly-lit domes and a few shadowy characters in the background (my subjects!). That's a lesson learned.

You're really setting yourself up, so your shots better live up to the hype, bro. See you at LUSSH, if not sooner.

Realized this morning that today is THURSDAY, not Wednesday. 3 day weekends do that to me sometime.

BTW, thanks for the reminder when you emailed me yesterday. Not.

BTW, Allroy's an a-hole.

JTB are one of the most promising bands ever to creep quickly to syrupy stupid boredom.

Orange Rhyming Dictionary - 5 stars

Four Cornered Night - 2 stars

Perfecting Lonliness - 1 star

guys who are good at angst should NOT try to be too sensitive and sweet. look how David Lowery lost his edge when he left CVB and started pushing Cracker toward slow ballads with strings, etc. SNOOZE.

was the show good?
