| Monsoon rains already?! | Pirate Girl May 29, 2003 5:06 PM | | Last year's monsoon season was much to be desired. But this afternoon I left work and noticed thunderstorms to the south. An hour later our house is in a downpour of rain. Oh joy! :-) Perhaps this year's monsoon season will actually provide RAIN and hopefully we won't have the land closures like last year.
Happy Dance! Happy Dance! Happy Dance!
Thanks to those in the wetter parts of the country that filled the request for rain in the desert. Keep it coming! ;-)

| You can have it ! | Tom 411 May 29, 2003 6:42 PM | | Seems like it's been raining here (New England) non-stop for a week and a half . Plus more rain this weekend !
At least the grass/plants/mosquitoes are happy. :)

| Nope. | SunDog May 30, 2003 7:29 AM | | Just an unusually late Spring rain.
I was out working on the 50 Year Trail yesterday evening when it rolled through. It was beautiful even though we only got a few drops I could see other areas getting drenched.
Oh, the sweet smell of desert rain.
Send more rain. |
| just dust.... | Gnarly1 May 30, 2003 8:18 AM | | ...in south Phoenix-area....
Weird though...it's awfully early for a monsoon.... |
| Sure hope so! | Paul B May 30, 2003 8:56 AM | | I put together a little night ride last night to shoot some pix for an upcoming SWEAT Magazine story, and our posse got caught in a dust storm. We turned off our lights and enjoyed getting shrouded in the glowing orange cloud, illuminated by distant city lights. There was enough diffused light to barely see the outline of South Mountain through the haze. A pretty amazing scene, actually. I wasn't able to shoot it with the camera -- the winds were so strong that I couldn't hold it still long enough for a slow shutter-speed shot.

| Uh, about that glowing orange cloud. | pedalAZ May 30, 2003 9:56 AM | | It's still following me around this morning. Are you sure that I'm OK? |
| Oh that | Paul B May 30, 2003 10:23 AM | | You just need some of these. I recommend the flowery print.
