you've had your front wheel kick up into your bare shin? This happens to me enough that I'm considering leg armour. I had one bounce up yesterday morning that must've been the size of a soft ball. Daaayim!!! That hurt like a bugger. Do you think you could break a leg from a rock like that? I just wanted to stop and cry, but I was having too much fun descending so I had to grit it out. A serious looking bump immediately appeared.

Anyone else have this happen? Or is it just me?
Not many rocks but big chunks of wood..Brandon

Especially this time of year before the trails get cleared of the winter blowdown.

Riding with a group a couple of years ago, screaming down an abandoned fire road, lotsa loose mid-sized rocks on the ground. The guy in front of me kicks up a long thin rock, it gets caught in the spokes on his front wheel travels around with the wheel, up to the fork and stops the wheel from spinning. Needless to say he went OTB in a hurry, left him wondering what happened, the rock was still wedged in after the crash. Incredible to see and amazingly no serious injuries, though he did "take a knee" for a minute to regroup.
