What is the best mountain biking near Stowe Vermont. Willing to travel an hour. Thanx for all replies.

That's what I was told on here a few days back anyway. If you look in the posts from Tues or Wed, you will find one with Vermont pics in the title. I asked where they were because I will be across the lake in NY in few weeks and want to do some riding in VT. I was told Burke has some sweet spots and Killington pics didn't look to shabby. Mt. Snow has a downhill race coming up soon, 21 June I think. It all depends what you are looking for too.

Good luck.

there are some really good - easily accessable trails in Randolph. Stow is about 1/2 hour to 40 minutes away. There's some sweet singletrack behind the Three Stallion Inn (a google search will find it for directions). There's also a really nice trail system close to that place as well. Shoot me an email for details if you want.

This one in particular sounds helpful: http://www.mtbr.com/trails/Vermont/Stowe.html

I'm in Burlington, though, and I haven't gotten over to Stowe for riding yet.

Although it's pretty wet right now, there is plenty of great riding right in Stowe. If you are planning a visit the trails will only get better over the next few weeks (fingers crossed). One thing to be aware of is that most trails around here are on private property. That makes getting info a little harder. Email me if you have specific questions.

The Kingdom trails in East Burke are great. It's over an hour's drive away - Killington likewise.
