How often do you change suspension settings while on a ride?bugaroo

faster speed = faster rebound and comrpesion or do you always lease it the same.

Suspension for me is a set and forget issue really. However since it is air I redo my pressure about once a week or so. Compression/rebound et al is all set and left as is.

...rebound/compression the same throughout the ride. now travel can be adjusted faster, but that tends to stay the same as well locally. the ups and downs aren't long enough to keep switching it around.

While on a ride = Never.

Between different trails = 35% of the time (rebound only).
coils - never ; air - almost neverSchwinng

My coil shocks (front and rear) don't have rebound damping, and I've come to know what compression settings work well on this particular bike.

On my other bike, which has air shocks (f&r), I have to play with these a little from time to time (almost never DURING a ride, however) because although I may pump 180 lbs. of pressure into my Vanilla R rear shock, for example, a little air leaks out while unscrewing the pump from it. Otherwise, it's like a set-it-and-forget-it deal.

Before I became familiar with what setting work best for me, HOWEVER, particularly when I first started mtn biking, I'd spend all kinds of time ON THE TRAIL playing around with compression and rebound damping settings. But, when I was new to mtn suspension, this was part of the fun on the trail. :-)

The only time the dials on my fork have been moved was when Leel rotated them all over the place for a laugh. I don't even know what to do, but it still bounces okay.

I never messed with the settings on my rigid fork either.

That would be your tire air pressure, right? :) Or do you use the Tyler Hamilton extra gel tape suspension system?

I only "change" the settings when the rear shock has lost too much air and I notice my pedals are suspiciously much closer to my saddle.

Do your pedals really get any closer to your saddle when your shock needs air? I'm guessing they don't, unless you're on an URT, and for some reason I picture you on a SL.

Maybe my wife is right ...

I can honestly say I can barely tell any difference when I adjust my shock up/down more rebound or less,(2003 Skareb Comp). I just blast on and hope for the best.

When I first had it put on the tech. showed me all about it and said, "now feel the difference when I do this?". I lied and said,"ohhh yeah - nice".

from 4-6 yes, especially after a couple hours of climbing its nice to slide the coil shock via quick release into 6 mode and ride the 3 miles of downhill back to the hacienda.

Ditto that due to the TALAS. Decrease travel on the flats.Dustinjl

I've had my new Sugar 2 out for about eight rides now. Still trying different settings/air pressure in both the front and rear shocks. I'm getting closer to a happy/medium setting for all terrain.

Wow! I was looking through passion this morning when I noticed my post. I didn't even realize I had been on the computer or made a post.

That sleeping aid really turns off the old brain. I didn't even bother to check the spelling.
