Slatyfork Shuffle PicsMongooseMan

Well the Slatyfork Shuffle went off without a hitch and we all had a great time. I wasn't able to show up until Friday evening so I only got to take in one day of riding, but still enjoyed some great riding. I loved meeting everyone, what great people.

Thanks Davis for putting on a great gathering.

Now for some pics, I apologize in advance if I get anyones name or handle wrong. I'm not good with names.

Getting ready for the Prop's Run Trail.

The view from the start of the ride. The trails take you to the bottom of the vally below.

The Group Shot

Taking a break on the trail

Chili picks his way through the creek crossing

TinyTank tries her hand at the crossing

Mtb_Irv works the crossing as well

CharlieAmerica and Davis do a little trail maintenance.

Some of it was a too much for Charlie's saw

Chili decides we all need a lesson on the proper way to fix a flat.

Everyone pays close attention

Davis shows us the proper way to cross a stream

Relaxing at the end of the ride

Mtb_Irv has the right idea

I hope you brought enough for everyone

Davis enjoying the shuttle back a little too much

Davis being the gracious host he is invites the group back to his house for dinner. The perfect ending to a great day of riding. Thanks everyone and hope to ride with you again soon.

I think allison and i are going to head back that way for a few days later this week. the weather forecast for the next week is the only thing i'm worried about. thunderstorms across the board. i had an incredible time. what more could you ask for..great riding and great company.

mongooseman, thanks for being one of the few (if not the only one) to take pics. drop me an email with the other pics if you could, and also so we can keep in touch to ride in the (very) near future i hope. maybe leave your number.

davis, thanks for putting it all together, picking up the camp fees, supplying the tasty strawberry juice, and everything else. thank amy as well. seems like you landed a good one.

alabama boyz, i hope to crash your neck of the woods soon too. i had a good time hanging out with you guys. true southern gents, and great riders. rick i hope i can ride like that 20 years from now. btw, 2/29 is the due date.

charlie and tiny tank, it was very cool to finally meet the infamous mtbr couple. annie, i was fascinated by your riding, mostly because of how short of a time you've been riding, but also becuase i've never met a female that rides over anything and everything like you did. It seems you have a good teacher though.

mtbIrv and rob..Irv it was great to see you again. rob, i hope she drags you back up here next year too, and to see you around on the board. I hope the WV mountains didn't beat you florida flatlanders up too much.

everyone, it was great meeting and riding with you. i hope to be able to do it again soon, maybe next year? maybe in florida? montreal? time will tell. right now i'm packing to headback to Wv. I hope everyone had a safe journey home.

Thanks again davis.
very nice. can't wait to come back.dadembk

Anytime you and/or Rick want to visit, just let me know. Great to meet the two of you and thanks again for bringing those cool decals. Mine is going on my X-Terra tomorrow. I'm hoping to have the same event next year, same place, same weekend, and I hope to see you then (if not before).

Yes, you should'a, now let me know when you can. You sure did miss a good time, and your company was missed as well. I had such a good time I'm planning on heading back this week for a few more days of camping with my gf, and hopefully some riding as well. I'm willing to head over for a weekend whenever you want. I have a feeling Davis and MongooseMan will be up for some riding as well. We'll have to give Davis a heads up though, he's a very busy man with a very busy schedule. ;)

I maybe should'a come.

Maybe I could'a not crashed.

And I most definitely would'a been there if circumstances had permitted.

Get my email while you were gone?

I'm taking 2 classed this fall, so all trips are off. I'm gonna be doing the school thing, spring and fall, for a couple of years, so only summers when I'm not ***F'ED UP*** , will be my trip times.

I'll catch up to you one of these years...

Bb, [ yes, I was whining. ]
