| Atlanta people - High Speed Internet recommendation(OT) | chickenlegs Aug 4, 2003 11:20 AM | | Atlanta folks - I'm moving to Virginia Highlands in a few days... any recommendations for high-speed internet? I heard DSL was a little sketchy, any experience with that? Cable options? Good deals?
Thanks. |

| if you don't mind my asking... | *rt* Aug 6, 2003 6:15 AM | | where will you be living?

| Not at all, sorry for the delayed response... | chickenlegs Aug 9, 2003 6:52 PM | | been busy with moving madness. Highland Hall on Briarcliff, know it? Across Briarcliff about where it hits Virginia.
I almost went with a place off Greenwood, on Barnett Street. I decided on the Briarcliff place b/c its a bit closer to Emory (where I'm starting business school)... and we got us a sweet little pool in the courtyard!

| I use... | AlloyNipples Aug 4, 2003 11:36 AM | | Comcast cable @ home. Packaged with phone & tv it's an OK deal. |
| re: Atlanta people - High Speed Internet recommendation(OT) | East Coast Roast Aug 4, 2003 11:46 AM | | I have had DSL in the Buckhead area for about 3.5 years and it has always been pretty reliable. Started out with Earthlink then went to DirecTV then back to Earthlink when DirecTV bit the dust. All of them have been rock solid except for a hardware problem with Earthlink in the beginning. Since you will be in the Highlands your options should be pretty open. Congrats on the move, beautiful area. |
| Currently using... | Hardtail in Georgia Aug 4, 2003 12:03 PM | | Alltel DSL. In the Canton, GA area. Very reliable service and combined with out 3 phone lines we are paying about $45 a month. Internet never bogs down and has only been down a total of about six hours in six months.
Good luck with the move.

| Bellsouth "fast access"... | El Jester Aug 4, 2003 12:13 PM | | I have had a positive experience with their service and support over the past 1+ year. They usually have all kinds of promotions going so check their web site. |
| re: Atlanta people - High Speed Internet recommendation(OT) | UzziRidin' Aug 4, 2003 4:02 PM | | My parents house has Bellsouth DSL which has been quite reliable. Once I move out (looking near Buckhead/ Midtown) I'm going with a Cable modem since I don't plan on connect a telephone line (just going to use my cell phone).

| Thanks all... | chickenlegs Aug 5, 2003 11:16 AM | | Giving Earthlink DSL a try (current dial-up subscriber in DC) - I may eventually try the Comcast package deal, that'n don't sound too shabby.
