Accomodations in Jasper and Banff, recomendations?Kami

So I'm looking for a nice cosy place in the Jasper/Banff area for New Years'. Preferably with a private hot tub in the room. Any tips?

Bike related? Well, I do ride there in the summer... :)

I stayed at the YWCA hostel for 2-3 weeks for about $12 per night. NO hot tubs but the Banff Hot Springs are about 5 mininutes up the road. Thats all I have to offer...

If you are trying to impress your s.o., try the Deer Lodge in Louise. Its quaint, cozy, has a cool hot tub on the roof (secluded in it's own little way) and freaking expensive! The restaurant is also really nice and you can order drinks and sit on the couch in front of the huge foyer fireplace. My wifey and I went about 5 years ago and stayed in the cheapest closet they had (no tv even). If you can swing it, opt for a room that you can actually turn around in!

If you want cheap (just want to booze it up in Banff), try the hostel in Banff....I've heard it's pretty sweet.

Either way, have fun.

How about a B&BSteve-O

I did part of my honeymoon in '96 at Pension Tannenhoff. The owner was cool, breakfast was great, and the rooms were nice. We didn't have a hot tub room (they have them) but Mrs. Steve-O and I made due with the local hot springs pool near Banff...
You had better get on it soon...skogan

places tend to fill up in Banff quick in Banff for New Years. I'd second the bed and breakfast thing. A quick Google will give you the Banff B&B association listing.

On second thought you could stay at Chateau Skogan for $500 a night...
Tempting...Kami

But for $500/night, I'd expect a chaufer and a private olympic sized indoor pool. =)
So what is going on???skogan

The new g/f and I were discussing it last night. She will be in the Dominican Republic for Christmas, and will be back in her home town of Mayerthorpe for six weeks starting in January. That, and it will be our first holiday together. So we wanted to make New Years' special. We liked the idea of a quiet room (cabin?) with a private hot tub. Not sure if I can afford it, but I'm looking around...
