	...the old cowboy that rode a bike instead of a horse was J.J. Methvin, a missionary in "Indian Territory" (that is Oklahoma before statehood) and surrounding areas. Imagine what the "roads" were like back then, think of a much used logging road after rains, that might be a good comparison.Yes, there were many riding rough terrain before the hippies of Marin!
