Goodbye, Passion; and thank you...Mellow Yellow
Jan 23, 2004 11:56 AM
If it wasn't for you, I would not have met the dozens of axe murderes that I've had the pleasure of sharing some single tracks with; slam a few cold brews; let into my home; or created life long memories. But as in life, all good things must come to an end. The one lesson I will take with me as you fade into black, is that life is about the journey, not the destination.

Goog bye and thank you.

"Passion" isn't going anywhere. You can still do all those things on the new board.

Well, I've been here a little bit longer than you......celly

and more or less stayed around for most of that (I seem to recall you vanishing for long periods at a time). I met my wife from this site. I've met hundreds of people from this site. I've hung out and ridden with Francis and the other mtbr people. I tend to get sentimental as well, but don't really find this transition from one version of software to another to be that sentimental. The same people are still around. People will come, people will go. The version of software we're running does not define what Passion is to me. The people and the riding are what Passion is to me. Those are common denominators that will exist as long as this site is around no matter what version of software we're running.

The future of mtbr is as bright as ever. Francis and gregg need to be commended for what they've accomplished, and not lambasted for doing what needs to be done. The transition can't come soon enough for me.

See you on the other side, Mel.

I was just being a goof with my post. I did vanish for a bit. As I recall, I think I needed to recharge my batteries. I too have riden with Francis and have met 100s thanks to this site and like you, I think passion is found on the trail, not on a web site.

You and a small handful of people here clearly understand that; that's probably why you are on that very small list of people whom I've yet to meet, but looking forward to when I do.

See you on the other side, Cel

I never said Mel slammed mtbr admin. In fact, I think he and I are on the same page and actually embracing the new software.

But, there have been a whole lot of complaints, threats, whines, tantrums and downright childish behaviour over the past little while as the transition from old to new has been going down. While Mel hasn't slammed anyone for the changes, I could name quite a few people who have...but I won't.
