Jul 28, 2003 10:58 PM | | Our journey into the LIFE of 24 started three years ago, when during supper i said to my brother, you know it would be fun to try that 24 hour race thing out. He said, he was sure he could find three other people to join us and he did. So in 2001 we were in our first 24 hour event. It was a very long 24hours because of rain that never seemed to stop, causing us to ride thru all that mud. But did that stop us. No for we were back in 2002. It did not rain, so that was good, but the heat was about 34 C. It felt like we were being cooked, well that might be true because a lot of our family and friends said we were out of our minds for doing this. But we did not listen and we were here again in 2003. And again the heat was there but it is better than rain. And this year we were able to talk our other brother into joining our madness. He said he will back. We are here just for the fun of it because what could be more fun than RIDING in a event like this with family and friends. Blasting down the single track at night with just your lights and your bike trying to not have have a mechanical. Then when you get back to camp reliving your journey thru the darkness. And you know there is always that one lap that you think maybe I am out of my mind for doing this.
BUT you know what, WE will be back in 2004!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
