| 29ers much harder to loft front end? | zippster Sep 22, 2002 8:03 AM | | Esp. in view of the chainstay length. What about the new surgars? They've got 18! inch chainstays! The fish hts have 17" chainstays (not too bad). Also when you wheelie w/ a bigger rear wheel you are lifting your body further up because the distance from the tire contact patch and the rear axel is longer. How much is this a problem or a concern? Is it a prob wheelie dropping? Report please. |

I don't think so, it's a matter of adjustment, a MINOR adjustment to the feel of the bike...so don't be reading Yap anymore. |

| re: 29ers much harder to loft front end? | tclops Sep 22, 2002 6:02 PM | | They can't be too much harder to lift up - I joined the elite 180 degree wheelie club last week while playing around in the parking lot. 2 weeks later and after 4 trips to the chiropractor, I still haven't been back on the bike. Not the dumbest thing I've ever done, but pretty close. So yeah, they're not too much harder to lift the front end up. |
| No problem | shiggy©® Sep 22, 2002 6:26 PM | | A buddy has a Mt Tam and the front end is as easy or easier to loft as a 26"er. |
