anyone using their 29"er for cyclocross?rp

I recently fitted some cross tires - Michelins 35mm I believe - to my Mt. Tam. They lowered the bottom bracket height about 1". It is now about 10.75". Will this be a problem?

For curiosity's sake I installed an old hybrid rigid fork on the bike as well -- the bottom bracket was really, really, low to the point where the bike was pretty much useless. Oh well.
