| Airborne 29" | flyweight Oct 3, 2002 12:25 PM | | Just looked through the 2003 Airborne offerings. They will be offering a 29" MTB for 2003. No model name or specifics on fork and wheel options. This could be a nice option for those wanting to build up a 29" bike but want something lighter than the Surly but can't afford an IF, Seven, or other custom job.
Semi-related is a new dropout for the Carpe Diem cross bike. It's going to be disc brake compatible and the set-up very closely resembles the hoop stays/dropout on the Yeti mountainbikes. |

Even at the dealer level details were minimal. Basically it was a 2-3 line announcement. No pictures, no details, no specs. Just said they're doing a 29" MTB.
Airborne has a lot of new stuff for 2003 including disc brakes on their cross bike and aluminum frames. They're also going to be exapnding their line of in-house components after dealing with numerous availability "issues" with Ritchey. |
