| well, here it goes! | sslos Oct 3, 2002 1:29 PM | | i'm finally gonna do it. i just ordered a set of 29" wtb naners- the atlantis is going to live up to its potential.
i'd purchased the frame as a touring/commute bike, and i really don't have as much standover as i'd normally like for offroad, but you guys have convinced me to try it!
we'll see next weekend.

| Ha! Another one bites the dust. | 2melow Oct 3, 2002 2:42 PM | | you'll have a blast. That bike deserves big meats! |
| You wanna know whats really sad? | M-U-M Oct 4, 2002 7:36 PM | | Sitting in the basement, all alone, on a beautiful Friday night - with a beer, of course - looking at a stock XC and wondering what you could possibly do that will allow this frame to accept a increased wheel size. I give up. Obviously, I need a new bike. 8) |
| You wanna know whats really sad? | Cloxxki Oct 5, 2002 12:09 AM | | Hey man, I know your pain! Getting into 29" really makes you want one, an expensive virus! On the other hand, it's a great chance to start enjoying biking to the full again, give it an extra edge.
Only thing you can do to your bike to make it kinda-29" is to do what I did on my frankenbike, rigid fork and 29" wheel. Pic somewhere down below this forum. A nice in-between, makes you overcome the time till you('re able to) take the plunge and get a true niner.
Now that I have my SuperCal29, I love it so much that I, lazy as heck, for the first time picked up nightbiking, just to asap get some riding time in. I now hate myself for waiting so long, I could have had this fun many months earlier! |
