| what kind of wheels are those? | Cloxxki Oct 6, 2002 9:47 PM | | Those would be the new Mavic Speedcity disc-prepared wheels, with unfortunately that very narrow 18-19mm rim. |
| Mavic T520 has a ceramic option | crussell5 Oct 7, 2002 6:06 AM | | Check out the Mavic website (www.mavic.com). In the Asphalt section there is a rim offering called the T520. This rim has a ceramic sidewall option. |
| kenda tires | somaweim Oct 8, 2002 5:48 PM | | those kenda tires look like the goods, probably not as general purpose or as fast as the nanoraptor though. maybe for the soft stuff? |
| Some Inside info on the photo bike- | Bigwheel Oct 10, 2002 4:43 PM | | That bike was a Ti 28"er originally built for Sarah Ballantine about 6 years ago. Wes took it back in and did some dropout magic on it which rehabbed it to fit the "tire". For those of you that don't know Sarah she is about 5'2" or so-----. Willits is building a fresh New Sheriff 29"er (not a 29er, those are Gary's bikes and sailboats please) for her to race Triathalons with and the picture bike is for sale I think?
The Mavics are narrow but I think they will hold a 29" tire just fine. Those wheels are soooooooo french----ooh la la. |
