| mavic speed city wheels | somaweim Oct 8, 2002 6:05 PM | | from my understanding the wheels are ust. i'm not sure mavic was thinking of us (29ers) when producing these wheels but could this mean we will begin to see 29" ust tires? |
| re: mavic speed city wheels | Cloxxki Oct 9, 2002 2:55 AM | | Does Mavic call it UST officially? Then the Ksysiums are so, as well, it's the same extrusion.
I think it just ended up as a "sealed" (non-drilled) rim, due to the chosen spoke/nipple style. These wheels are less usefull for 29" as the rims are just like 19mm wide, if I'm remembring correctly. We all know about proportions, and 19mm rim/50+mm tire, that just is not ideal unless you like lotsa tire roll.
29" UST? Hey, sounds good! But latex-tubeless is the future, so much lighter, more flat-proof and faster! |
