Paging RobW (and anyone else who uses a trainer and 2.1s...)xxlt

Hey Rob, how is the 1up working out? What was the machining they did? In looking at the pics, its hard to tell where they would need too. How is the tire wear issue using a 2.1? Any negatives to the 1up?

Anyone else have a success story using a different trainer and 2.1x29 tire?

Thanks!

How are ya, xxlt? Since they changed the browser at work I can't post to this page, I have no idea whats up. Anyhow, the 1up is terrific, with a very smooth resistance curve. When I ordered it I optimistically asked for an extra set of bearings to increase resistance, but with the thing set for the intermediate level I cannot spin it out. I highly recomend this thing. As far as the machining goes, they knew about the 29"ers, and were aware of what needed to be done. I think they machined an extra position station in the upright beams for the skewer cups, but am not sure because I installed the old 26"er in the trainer. Anyway, with a smooth cross tire, I'm not sure you would need anything done, but I'd tell them anyhow just in case. Again, this thing gets two thumbs up, get it, you won't regret it.

Heya Rob, thanks for the response. I went ahead and ordered one yesterday and they had it out in the mail last night. Pretty amazing.

Get that damn browser fixed at work! You've got to have a friend in the IT department that can work somethin out =)
