| Action-Tec forks? | RL May 29, 2003 10:25 AM | | Where can I find more information on Action-Tec forks? I am considering purchasing one for a custom Strong, but I don't know much about them. Another question I had was If I got the Action Tec, could I put a rigid fork (surly) on it and it not afect the geometry, I am aware that the fork is 1 1/4, I could just put a king adapter on it, if I chose to put a 1 1/8 fork on it. |
| Hmmm... | xxlt May 29, 2003 2:40 PM | | Here is the link to their website: Action Tec. It seems to be down. It was up the last time I checked (about 2 months ago). Cambria sold the forks once upon a time, however they no longer seem to carry them. Did Action Tec go out of business? Maybe Cannondale finally won and had them shut down? |
| They are still around.......... | Fulton May 30, 2003 12:00 AM | | They are selling direct. price is $450. I can't seem to remember what their website is though........ |

There's a guy who's posted some pics of a bike he built around an Action-tec fork on the SS board, Bob Brown, I think his name is. Cool bike. Dunno if it was a 29"er, but it was sweet and a unique ride for sure. Might want to throw your question out on that board and see if you get some info.
Must post pics when you bulid it!! |
| Rigid fork swap answer | Tony Montana May 30, 2003 10:38 AM | | The span on the 29" Action Tec forks that we have built is 480. Span for the Surly Karate Monkey fork is 468. Subtracting sag from the action tec span would put you very close to the same geometry between the two forks. You should be able to swap back and forth with little to no effect.
