Have been riding a bunch of this kind of stuff lately. I call it Ranch Riding and it makes me glad that steak is on the menu in our country! Here in CO. the top two industries are Ranching and Mining. Both have left a legacy of fine singletrack.

First of all you have to find some legal access, private property is a no-no of course. Like this inviting narrow entry way:

Then you have to locate the goods, ok now where's the trail?

The best thing about RR is the variety it yields,

Plenty of water flowing this spring out here due to a decent snowpack. It's always good to take the break next to the sound of a running stream--

Well it's time to just say that for about 3 hours it was that and more. Sorry about the sunny content for you all back east there getting dumped on, what can I say but,

Is that a Don McClung 29er I see

Don's bikes are kool. My bike is just an old Willits 26" bike converted to a 29. Works pretty good for exploring on though. Sometimes the trail gets a little vague in spots and there is nothing like the 29" wheels for crossing pockmarked terrain to find the next stash I feel. It's funny though that I have a FS 29"er hanging and find myself on the rigid bike 90% of the time----

There's a Don bike on this page:

to give you an idea of the profile to look for.

There's no Don Decal set, AFAIK.

Big version of that picture is here:

hey bob,

nice photos as usual, looks like a lot of fun, as a matter of fact, that's how we get some of our fun singletrack here in Kneebraska.
you sure seem to favor the old 2spd full rigid to you high zoot full suspension. something fun about big wheels and rigid forks, they just work huh. keep us posted on the new discoveries, i always like to see them.

over and out
nate
