What size Cranks are you using with your 29er

170mm. Came stock with the bike. As far as I know I've never ridden anything but 175mm prior. I don't really notice the difference too much.

190mm's and love 'em. Although that may have something to do with my 39" inseam =)

Hey XXLT,

I'm interested where you got your bike/frame. I'm 6-9, 230+, 38" inseam. Please check my recent post in the "What Bike To Buy" forum. Thanks for the link to the 190mm crank arms.

31.5" inseam 175's. Planning on 180's because my BB is high enough now.

I've been riding 180's for the past 6 years and love em', I have them on all of my bikes. My inseam is 35" and I have a tendancy to grind out the gears. I also ride with a 5'5" rider who has used 180's and will be puting a pair on his 29" ss. There is some truth to the claim that you will have more pedal strikes, however after a few technical rides you will get the hang of timing your pedal strokes.

xxlt where did you get the 190 m cranks?

Proflie Racing's MTB DH 3-Piece Crankset 190mm

Talk about bulletproof. These things are as stiff as I've ever felt. You do give up some weight but I'm pushing 300lbs so...

Back that with their lifetime guarantee and how can you go wrong?

Very sweet. Having snaped two pairs in the past at 185 lbs, I am liking the lifetime guarantee. I ride the 03 xtrs' now so we'll see how they last.

thanks.

I use 180 XTR's. I tried 175's to get a better spin, but ended up hating them on my SS. Went back to 180's as soon as I could. I actually wouldn't mind trying longers ones either. The CB boys all use short cranks, like 170 and shorter.
