I finally got the chance to swap out the fixed gear drive train on my KM. I am now running single speed in anticipation of a local race series starting in July.

I added disc brakes: XT brake levers into XTR calipers.

Nice ride! Educate me, why's the extra material under your rotor bolts?

At least according to Shimano. On the instruction sheet for the SI-RT75B Rotor. I wasn't to committed to actually using it, but went ahead and used it anyway. I suppose it helps keep that section of the rotor true while you tighten it.

Anyway, the set up works really well, and I am pleased with the results.
