| New to singlespeed... | mtndog Jan 2, 2004 10:09 AM | | I have wanted to get a 29" singlespeed. Now that christmas is over and tax refunds are around the corner I've decided to get one. I found a spot at e-bay. Any thoughts as to if this is a good deal?

It says it comes with a 30 and a 32 and also a 19 and a 21 freewheel. Is this enough of a range? I live in the rockies so there will be some climbing.
Any thoughts would be great. Thanks. |
| I would buy it! | donkey Jan 2, 2004 10:27 AM | | It looks like a great deal.
Also, It seems like you will be able to find a gear that you like with those rings and cogs. I use a 34-20, and it is working out pretty well. If you go with 32-19, that will be a tiny bit easier than my 34-20. Good luck, I hope you win! |

| "good deal" is a function of | ncj01 Jan 2, 2004 12:39 PM | | price for what you get. clearly at 800, that's a good deal. That's not a buy it now, that's a bid and hope you get lucky. If it goes much over 1200 or so, i'd think 2x and hard. |
| I'd get it... | martini Jan 2, 2004 12:53 PM | | Looks to be worth the price he's asking initally. I wouldn't go too high on it though. I'm a sheapskate though....It's a good looking bike to boot. |
